SIERRA LEONE / IRON ORE RECLAIMING PROJECT – LBY LTD.

In 2009, parallel to the Iron Ore Fines reclaiming project in Liberia, DutchInspect BV worked in Sierra Leone on a similar project. In Pepel / Sierra Leone, an abandoned stockpile of appr. 125.000 mt of iron Ore was present. The canal to Pepel – due to lack of maintenance during the civil war – was no longer suitable for vessels to enter. DutchInspect BV with their principals and local authorities worked out an ‘’out of the box’’ solution to bag the entire stock-pile, transport it in small boats to the port of Freetown for shipment to China in containers with minimal investment.
